VKS Bat Knocking In Service

Overview

The VKS Bat Knocking In Service is a comprehensive and expertly performed process to prepare your bat for match use. Every cricket bat must be fully knocked in, even those marked as "pre-prepared," which only means they've been partially pressed. Our meticulous service ensures your bat is thoroughly knocked in, oiled, and ready for the rigours of the game.

PLEASE NOTE: A pre-prepared bat still requires oiling and full knocking in with a mallet for at least 4 hours to ensure its durability and performance.

Process

  • Initial Preparation: A quick session with a lightweight mallet is performed, followed by a light oiling using the finest Owzat bat oil, which is then left to dry overnight.
  • Knocking In: The bat is knocked in using a top-quality lignum vitae mallet of medium weight. Attention is given to key areas such as the edges, toe, and main blade in a step-by-step process that allows the willow to breathe and expand naturally.
  • Final Stages: A heavier lignum vitae mallet is used to complete the knocking in. The bat is then given a final coat of Owzat bat oil on the blade, sides, and back, and allowed to dry completely.
  • Optional Additions: Fibreglass tape and an anti-scuff sheet can be applied for added protection, upon request.

Features

  • Expertly Performed: Carried out by skilled professionals using top-quality materials and mallets.
  • Durable Preparation: Strengthens the bat, reduces the risk of damage, and enhances performance.
  • Complete Process: Includes oiling, multiple knocking in stages, and final protective measures if required.
  • Attention to Detail: Specific focus on edges, toe, and blade for thorough preparation.
  • Timeframe: Approximately 10 days during the season, 5 days during other times of the year.
