Buy the Ben Stokes BS55 Bat: A Limited Edition Headingley Tribute

Overview

This Ben Stokes limited edition bat is a numbered BS55 Diamond cricket bat made from Grade 1 English willow. It gives collectors a lasting piece of Headingley 2019. Only 55 are available worldwide, each numbered from 1 to 55. Every bat includes a certificate of authenticity and a signed Ben Stokes card.

Ben Stokes scored 135 not out at Headingley on 25 August 2019. Many still call it the greatest innings in Test cricket history. Gunn & Moore builds this Diamond bat as part of the BS55 range Stokes helped design himself. The blade carries his silhouette from the winning moment, marking the exact shot that sealed victory.

This signed Ben Stokes cricket bat suits collectors, cricket fans and anyone who watched that Ashes summer unfold. Each one ships with a Diamond bat sleeve for display and storage. The anniversary of that innings falls in August, right in the middle of the English cricket season. The season runs from April to September in England.

Features

  • Individually numbered 1 to 55, so you always know exactly how rare your bat is.
  • Made from Grade 1 English willow, the same grade used in the standard GM Diamond Original.
  • Comes with a certificate of authenticity, so you can prove it is a genuine BS55 limited run.
  • Includes a signed Ben Stokes card, giving you a second collectible alongside the bat.
  • Ships in a Diamond bat sleeve that protects the blade and suits display at home.
  • Carries Ben Stokes' silhouette from the winning moment, marking the exact shot that won the match.
  • Shares the PowerArc bow face and Hex grip with GM's playable Diamond range.
  • Marks the seventh anniversary of the innings, released within the same English cricket season it happened in.

Design and Materials

The blade is cut from Grade 1 English willow, hand selected for straight grain and minimal blemish. GM shapes it with a PowerArc bow face profile and a flowing contoured spine. This is the same profile used across the whole Diamond range. It gives a full sweet spot and a firm, responsive strike through the ball. The traditional full blade profile keeps the willow generous through the middle. The bat still handles like a proper match blade.

The handle uses GM's treble-spring cane construction, built to absorb shock and flex on contact. A Hex grip sits over the top for a secure hold in the hand. Mid swell balance keeps the bat suited to strokeplay all around the ground. It is the same balance point Stokes favours in his own bats.

Key Technologies

PowerArc Bow Face Profile: Curves the face for a fuller sweet spot, so off centre hits still carry.
Flowing Contoured Spine: Shapes the back of the blade to keep weight in the hitting zone without adding bulk.
Treble-Spring Cane Handle: Layers cane through the handle to soak up vibration and improve feel at contact.
Hex Grip: Uses a honeycomb pattern for a firmer hold, even in humid conditions.

VKS Review

This Ben Stokes limited edition bat sits closer to memorabilia than a match bat. It is still built to the same standard as the playable Diamond range. Cricket collectors and Ashes 2019 fans get the strongest value here. The numbered edition and signed card carry real collector weight. Players who want a bat purely for the middle should look at the standard GM Diamond Original instead. It shares the same willow grade without the limited run price. You can view the numbered edition in person at our London store in Ealing before you commit.

Q&A Section

What is the Ben Stokes BS55 bat?

It is a numbered Diamond cricket bat from GM's BS55 range, marking Ben Stokes' 135 not out at Headingley. Each bat is one of only 55 made, with a certificate of authenticity and a signed Ben Stokes card. It is built from Grade 1 English willow, so it plays as well as it displays.

Is this bat signed by Ben Stokes?

The bat itself carries his silhouette rather than a handwritten signature. Every order includes a separate signed Ben Stokes card as part of the package. So you get both the artwork on the blade and a genuine signature on paper.

Can I use this bat to play cricket?

Yes, it is built on the same Grade 1 English willow and PowerArc profile as GM's playable Diamond range. The Hex grip and treble-spring handle work the same way as a standard match bat. Many collectors still choose to display it instead, given its numbered status.

Which grade of willow does the BS55 bat use?

It uses Grade 1 English willow, the top grade GM offers across the Diamond range. Grade 1 willow has straighter grain and fewer blemishes, so it responds more consistently at contact. This is the same grade used in the standard GM Diamond Original.

Should I buy this bat as a collector or a player?

Either works, since the bat is genuinely playable as well as numbered. Collectors get the rarity, the certificate and the signed card. Players who mainly want performance may prefer the standard GM Diamond Original at a lower price.

What is included with the Ben Stokes limited edition bat?

Every order includes the numbered bat, a Diamond bat sleeve, a certificate of authenticity and a signed Ben Stokes card. The sleeve protects the blade during storage and display. The certificate confirms the bat's number in the run of 55.
