Cricket balls are a VKS speciality.The manufacture of a cricket ball is a true art and a lengthy process. It takes approximately 6 months to complete the full process of making a single ball.
Many balls available in the marketplace are not made to the correct specs. They may look very good, but it's what goes inside the ball and the preparation that makes the difference. A ball that lasts longer is always thought of as being better, this however could mean the ball is harder than it should be and this ultimately damages cricket bats.
All cricket balls in the VKS range are chosen to perform. They are all made from alum tanned leather and tallow dipped to ensure a longer lasting shine and shape retention. The latest machinery is used to cut the leather to perfection after which each ball is assembled and stitched by hand. Alfred Reader, Kookaburra and Gray-Nicolls also receive the VKS seal of Approval.
